Featuring Two Programs:

The Poet And The Rough Rider
In the spring of 1903, President Theodore Roosevelt and poet John Muir spent three days together wandering through Yosemite. This was a meeting of profound implications, for out of this brief encounter between two powerful historical figures, philosophies would emerge which continue to shape America's attitude towards the natural environment and its relationship to human community.

This docudrama is more than a contemporary portrait of a place that is arguably the most beautiful in America. This program captures the spirit of the early conservation movement by focusing on its two most compelling figures -- John Muir and Theodore Roosevelt.

Starring Lee Stetson as John Muir and Joseph Early as Theodore Roosevelt.

John Muir's Yosemite
Before John Muir's death on Christmas Eve, 1914, he wrote, "In the beginning of my studies, I never intended to write a word for the press. In my life of lonely wanderings I was pushed and pulled, on and on, through everything by unwavering never-ending love of God's earth, plans and works, and eternal, immortal, all-embracing beauty."

Now you can hear John Muir's Story Of Yosemite in his own words.
