Good Fortune. Bad Karma.

East and West collide north of the border in Srinivas Krishna's genre-bending feature debut about an Indian community in Canada.

From a recovering drug addict grappling with the loss of his parents to a hard-working postal employee on the verge of financial catastrophe, they struggle to balance family, culture and tradition in a world where old values clash with the new. But when the Hindu god Krishna (Saeed Jaffrey) answers a grandmother's plea for help, chaos ensues and affects the lives of all in colorful and unexpected ways. With freshness and wife, Masala gives us an insider's view to the good, bad and hilarious consequences of culture clash through a spicy mix of drama, sharp satire and Bollywood-inspired musical fantasy.
