Pei spoken so thoroughly about his early years in China and his schooling at MIT and Harvard; his philosophy and methods of creating architecture; and his experiences with such clients as Jacqueline Kennedy and Francois Mitterrand.
The Museum on the Mountain
Once a dream in the eyes of the museum's founders and now brought to fruition by renowned architect I.M. Pei, The Miho Museum ranks as one of the world's greatest architectural achievements. This film follows the progress of the design and construction of the museum over a six-year period, from I.M. Pei's initial visit to the remote mountain site near Kyoto, Japan, to the public opening of the museum in 1997. Only through the unwavering dedication and perseverance of both architect and client did this dream become a reality.
