Tangos are for Two

Buenos Aires, 1993. The life of small time struggling tango singer Renzo takes a twist when he meets Juanita, the beautiful and seductive girlfriend of the guitarist of the band in which he sings. With his uncanny resemblance to the celebrated and highly popular tango singer and her life-long hero Carlos Gardel, Juanita soon persuades Renzo to adopt Gardel's hairstyle and his ways, so living out her love affair with Carlos Bardel by proxy. Renzo really does look and sound like Gardel, to such an extent that the latter's agent uses Renzo as his stand-in when Gardel is unable to do an ad on the radio. As Juanita and Renzo's love blossoms and her infatuation with his new image as Gardel grows, Renzo finds his own identity slowly but surely blur with that of the legendary singer. Juanita, his obsessed wife, is always at hand to bring out that twist of tango in him. Renzo's shifting identity can only lead to unhappiness as Juanita increasingly asks him to play out a life, which isn't his.
