"A Lavish Adaptation"-THE TIMES

Action and romance follow Richard Sharpe (Sean Bean) as he and his Chosen Men risk their lives on yet another dangerous mission.

Based on Bernard Cornwell's best-selling novels, British Officer Sharpe discovers that he is a father. He desperately attempts to rescue his Spanish lover Teresa (Assumpata Serna) and their daughter before the French troops storm the city of Badajoz. These are difficult and perilous times for the officer.

Sharpe's resolve is tested to the full with the return of Sergeant Obadiah Hakeswill (Pete Postlewaite), who once survived a hanging for raping and murdering a young girl.Hakeswill believes that he cannot die and is Sharpe's sworn enemy. His reappearance bodes badly for Sharpe.
