The Roar…The Rage… of the Boldest Double-Cross in Outlaw History!
The Fifties were a great time for Westerns. For every epic like The Searchers, there were a handful of tough, smaller films like those starring Randolph Scott. In Rage At Dawn (1955), Randy plays a government agent after the notorious Reno brothers. The cast includes Forrest tucker, Denver Pyle, J. Carrol Naish, Edgar Buchanan and Kenneth Tobey, all veterans of other Scott films. Mala Powers if the girl. Behind the camera were director Tim Whelan, who’d worked with Scott on Badman’s Territory (1946) and Frequent Scott producer Nat Holt. And Ray Rennahan (Gone With the Wind, Duel In the Sun) captured everything in gorgeous widescreen Technicolor.
