A Family Fights for Survival in the Oregon Wilderness

Oscar winner George Kennedy (Cool Hand Luke) stars with Joanna Pettet (The Group, Casino Royale) and Lee H. Montgomery (Ben, Burnt Offerings) as a family fighting for survival in the Oregon wilderness.Bitten by a rabid skunk while uprooting a tree stump, Sam Hadley (Kennedy) chains himself to a post in the barn of their remote farm, fearing he will become violent, and sends his wife Delda (Pettet) to summon help. But after telling his son Gus (Montgomery) not to believe what he says in his delirium, Sam sees signs of an impending flood in the nearby creek, and must convince Gus his warnings are not the raving of a rabid man.Based on Gilbert Wright's "Madman's Chain", previously dramatized on The Alcoa/Goodyear Theatre in 1958, this high-tension telefilm was directed by Gordon Hessler (Embassy, The Golden Voyage of Sinbad).
