There's no such thing as luck to a hustler.
Jericho Hudson (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) is a street kid with a gift for shooting pool. He finds himself in the middle of a dangerous hustle when he's played as a pawn in a contest of wits and Nine Ball between two legendary pool hustlers, Cue Ball Carl Bridges and Tenderloin Tony, and a corrupt Vice cop, Timothy Mortensen.
With the help of his rounder girlfriend, Jezebel (Roselyn Sanchez), Jericho puts his own bold hustle into motion, revealing that he too is driven by unknown and vengeful motives. Pulling a "long frame" on Cue Ball Carl and Mortensen, he maneuvers these two dangerous men towards each other with explosive results. The question is, will he life to tell the story?
