"A musical of considerable freshness and gaiety." -- Monthly Film Bulletin

Vivacious Rosemary Clooney (White Christmas) heads up a gaggle of high-kicking, red-gartered girls at the Red Dog Saloon in this amusingly tuneful spoof of the Western film. Rosie plays Calaveras Kate, a saloon owner and songbird who has her eye on the town's big shot, Jason Carberry (Jack Carson). But when a romance fails to blossom, a frustrated Kate decides that a handsome cowpoke (Guy Mitchell) is the seemingly perfect device to use in her attempt to make Carberry jealous enough to marry her. Among the songs are "This Is Greater That I Thought," "Meet A Happy Guy," and the title tune, all from the prolific, award-winning Hollywood team of Jay Livingston and Ray Evans. And all decked out in colorful, stylized sets, this rollicking film adventure nabbed an Academy AwardŽ nomination for Best Art Direction/Set Decoration for 1954.
