Caroline and the Rebels
Known in France as Le Fils de Caroline Cherie, Caroline and The Rebels is a swashbuckling tale of intrigue set against Napoleon's invasion of Spain and features a young Bardot as Pilar, a nubile Spanish girl in love with the aristocratic playboy Marquis de Villa Campo. Shortly after its completion, Bardot would go on to "scandalize five continents" with her appearance in … And God Created Woman. But even at this tender stage in her career it is already clear why it was said of Bardot and she "takes the trouble to put across sex as art."

…And God Created Women
…And God Created Women, fashioned for Bardot by her Svengali, Roger Vadim, gave a breathless world it's first look at the sex kitten in the nude. Set against stunning St. Tropez locales, the landmark taboo-buster was condemned by an indignant Catholic League of Decency as "an open violation of conventional morality."
