A bungling bank robber meets an overbearing hostage in a madcap adventure.

A bungling bank robber, an uncooperative hostage with a secret, a gay policeman and a situation which goes rapidly from bad to worse are the ingredients of this often hilarious and unpredictable caper flick. Unemployed Domenico (Silvio Orlando) plots to rob a bank in Turin and then escape north to Switzerland with his loot. But things don’t work out: the heist goes awry and he ends up with the down-on-his-luck businessman Tommaso (Diego Abatantuono) as his hostage. The opportunistic Tommaso uses his kidnapping to his advantage as he convinces the befuddled Domenico to head south instead - all for wrong reasons. It is not long before their trek becomes increasingly complicated and crowded as sexual relations are revealed and several of Tommaso's disgruntled family members join the cacophonous entourage. Children of Hannibal is an infectious comedy with some of the best and most unusual characters ever seen in an Italian film.
