One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest: A nice rest in a state mental hospital beats a stretch in the pen, right? Randle P. McMurphy (Jack Nicholas), a free-spirited con with lightning in his veins & glib on his tongue, fakes insanity & moves in with what he calls the "nuts." Immediately, his contagious sense of disorder runs up against numbing routine. No way should guys pickled on sedatives shuffle around in bathrobes when the World Series is on. This means war! On one side is McMurphy. On the other is soft-spoken Nurse Ratched (Louise Fletcher), among the most coldly monstrous villains in film history. At stake is the fate of every patient on the ward.
The Pledge: The suspect confessed to the murder, then took his own life. Case closed? Not for the homicide cop Jerry Black (Jack Nicholson). He has his own instincts about the crime. And even though he's ready to begin a gone-fishin' retirement, he promised the victim's family he'd find the killer.
Jack Nicholson (as Jerry) heads an all-star cast (Robin Wright Penn, Aaron Eckhart, Benicio Del Toro and more) in the gripping tale of a detective, driven to seek the truth…and driven into the darker reaches of his own mind by obsession. Sean Penn (who previously guided Nicholson in The Crossing Guard) directs, shaping sharp portrayals, crisp detail and a mounting sense of dread into a thriller both unconventional and unforgettable.
The Witches Of Eastwick: Alex, Jane, and Suki are three bored New England woman left to live without their husbands. They innocently conjure up a mystery man, who could satisfy all their desires. A new man moves into town - and he fits the bill perfectly. Daryl Van Horne is filthy rich and wild eyed, and within days the three women have all discovered almighty power within themselves. Will good triumph over evil, or will Daryl continue to have his evil way with his witches?
