Everybody Rides the Carousel invites the viewer along on eight “rides” through the different stages of life. Based on the work by Erik Erikson, one of the most influential psychoanalytic theorists of this century, the film explores the inner feelings and conflicting emotions experienced during each stage of personality development. With distinctive and poetic animation, John and Faith Hubley visualize the conflicts, joys, problems and delights we all experience on the carousel of life.

In A Doonesbury Special, Zonker Harris and his friends come face to face with shifting values at the conclusion of the 1960s and the end of an era of activism. Garry Trudeau’s brilliant comic strip, “Doonesbury,” has been part of American culture for over 20 years, chronicling with irony and warmth our nation’s personal and political foibles. In collaboration with acclaimed animators John and Faith Hubley, the essential spirit of Walden Commune and its inhabitants are brought to life in this Academy Award–nominated film.

My Universe Inside Out is Faith Hubley’s animated self-portrait intercut with a parallel story of the universe. Moments in the filmmaker’s life connect with the unfolding of the cosmos as she recalls infancy, childhood, turbulent adolescence, adventurous youth, life with her husband, of ceaseless work and struggle and her present search for meaning. The film ends with an irrepressible celebration of it all. My Universe Inside Out is a superb example of the artistry and integrity Faith Hubley brings to her work and to the world of animation. This joyous celebration of her life and work is an excellent addition to the Hubley legacy.
